Intermediate safeguarding children training
Our Intermediate safeguarding children training is available to all practitioners from all Medway agencies and organisations.
Aims: To develop participants knowledge, skills and ability to work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
Who the course is for: This course is aimed at those who work regularly with children and families and adults who are parents/carers and have received Basic Awareness in safeguarding children.
Cost: Free for non profit making organisations, otherwise £100 per delegate.
Course objectives
By the end of the course participants will:
- know about safeguarding legislation and policy
- give you the tools needed to respond appropriately if they’re concerned about a child
- be able to describe professional roles and responsibilities and how these work effectively together
- give you the chance to consider appropriate and effective methods of inter-agency communication
- develop your understanding of the principles of assessment and of the Kent and Medway Safeguarding Children procedures

Parking
Unfortunately, parking is not available to delegates at Gun Wharf. However, parking is available within a short walk. Lunch is not provided but delegates are welcome to use the on-site café facilities.
Cancellation policy
Places on MSCP courses are limited. If you can’t attend a course for any reason you must tell us at least 5 working days before the course date.
Tell us be emailing mscptraining@medway.gov.uk or by giving written notification. If you fail to tell the MSCP, a cancellation charge of £100 may apply.
