Signs of Safety - Partner and Business Support Staff
This training is for all Medway Children Services Partners, our Support Staff and Children’s Social Care employees who have not yet attended the 2 day Signs of Safety training. Examples of teams are: Parklands, SEND, Youth teams, Youth Offending, Early Years, MSCP, Education/Virtual School, Occupational Therapists, Commissioners, all administration roles etc.
These sessions will be run by our Signs of Safety Practice Development Lead and Medway Children’s Safeguarding Partnership. You will need a pen and paper to engage with this training.
Objectives
Signs of Safety is a child focused, family friendly, risk sensible framework for working with families. It may look and feel different to the way you have traditionally worked with Children’s Social Care. This session will provide you with a general overview of the Signs of Safety ethos, tools that are used to gather information and work with families, and what using this framework may mean for how we work together to support children, young people, and families.

- Overview of Signs of Safety ethos
- What Signs of Safety means for how we work with families
- Practical tools used to analyse (map) a case
- Creation of danger statements, safety goals and scaling questions
- How this translates into forming a family-led safety plan
- Q&A.
