Child Death Review Arrangements
Kent and Medway Child Death Review Arrangements
In line with the Child Death Review, Statutory and Operational Guidance (England), published in October 2018, the Kent and Medway Child Death Review Partners (Kent and Medway Clinical Commissioning Groups, Kent County Council and Medway Council) have produced the new Kent and Medway Child Death Review Arrangements.
This document describes the new Kent and Medway Child Death Partners arrangements in fulfilment of the responsibilities set out in the Children Act 2004, as amended by the Children and Social Work Act 2017. The arrangements also comply with the requirements set out in ‘Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023’, ‘Child Death Review Statutory and Operational Guidance (England) 2018’ and the complimentary ‘Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy and Childhood: multi-agency guidelines for care and investigation (SUDI/C Guidelines)’.
The Kent and Medway Child Death Partners’ lead officers have signed off the Kent and Medway Child Death Review Arrangements. This plan was published on 25th June 2019 and the new arrangements will be implemented on or before 25th September 2019. The new Kent and Medway Child Death Review arrangements supersede the previous process which operated under the previous Local Safeguarding Children Board.
