Medway Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements

Protecting children from abuse, neglect and exploitation requires multi-agency join up and co-operation at all levels. The Medway Safeguarding Children Partnership (MSCP) recognise that organisations and agencies that work with children and families play a significant and often statutory role when it comes to safeguarding children.

As set out in Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 the way in which the safeguarding partners (Medway Council, Kent Police and Kent and Medway NHS) and local organisations and agencies work together is known as multi-agency safeguarding arrangements (MASAs). Local safeguarding partnerships must agree and publish these arrangements.

The MSCP multi-agency safeguarding arrangements include information on the Lead Safeguarding Partners, their Delegated Safeguarding Partners and the Partnership structures.  It also sets out the arrangements for independent scrutiny and local child safeguarding practice reviews.
