Advice on domestic abuse cases
Medway domestic abuse assessment reflection aid for working with children and families
In partnership with Medway Domestic Abuse Forum and Medway Council the Medway domestic abuse assessment reflection aid for working with children and families has been developed for professionals to support their approach and assessments where domestic abuse has been identified. It promotes professionals’ curiosity and reflective practice in relation to domestic abuse and children as victims. The aid will support thinking around risks and needs of victims, including children and perpetrators as individuals, intervention and prevention strategies and other influences on risk.

Kent and Medway Domestic Abuse Strategy 2024-2029
The Kent and Medway multi-agency strategy was launched in March 2024. It is a 5 year strategy but will be reviewed and revised after 3 years.
The strategy brings together a range of statutory agencies including:
- Kent County Council
- Medway Council
- Kent Police
- the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner
- the NHS
- Kent Fire and Rescue Service
- the Department of Work and Pensions
- the Probation Service

Interviews, workshops, formal and informal consultation have all influenced the development of the strategy commitments. We are thankful to all those who gave their time to support the development of this strategy, it aims to reflect the voices of people who have experienced abuse.
