Where does baby sleep?
Launching in March 2026 to promote Safer Sleep week and The Lullaby Trust, this 3-hour virtual session on Microsoft teams has a case review approach featuring the learning from Local Child Safeguarding Practice Review (LCSPR) Laura published in 2025.
This session is an essential update for Medway practitioners who work with families who are in the antenatal and post-natal period. This includes early years professionals, those in childcare settings and childminders.
Objectives and content
- To explore Medway’s LCSPR review for baby Laura
- To increase awareness of the Kent and Medway Pre-birth procedure and circumstances when to refer to Medway Children’s Social Care
- To promote the use of the Graded Care Profile 2 to assess when neglect is present
- To promote awareness of the MSCP Escalation policy and when to use it
- How to reduce the risks of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS)
- Current safer sleep advice and co-sleeping advice from The Lullaby Trust
- Where to seek further support for Bedtime bundles, Baby Basics Kent and costs for families
